Jose Munoz

joseJose Ramon Munoz is a longtime Spanish broadcaster who helped to launch Nebraska’s first-ever Spanish station in 2000.  He has received recognition and awards for his contributions to the industry including the NBA’s Crystal Award for Community Service and he was elected Media Representative from the Midwest Region for Spanish Media from the United States, Canada and Spain.

Munoz attended Fullerton College Radio Program in Fullerton, California.  For more than two years, Munoz was the sports announcer for The Orange County Zodiac soccer team, and the play-by-play announcer for the Fullerton College Hornets college baseball team.  He also worked in the sports department at Telemundo 52 television in Los Angeles in the late 1990’s.

Since arriving in Omaha, Munoz has been the Spanish play-by-play voice for the Omaha Royals for five years and has been the broadcast voice for multiple games aired on NETV.  Currently, Munoz can be heard on the Morning Show for NRG Media-Omaha’s La Preciosa 1180 AM providing local conversation, entertainment news and playing the best Spanish hits on the radio!
